How to Appear on the Leaderboard

Create a free KeyDuel account. Every race, time trial, and game mode score you complete while signed in is automatically saved to your profile and submitted to the relevant leaderboard if it qualifies. You can view your own rankings, compare against specific users, and track your progress over time from your profile page.

What WPM Is Considered Fast?

  • 40–60 WPM — Average typist, comfortable for everyday use
  • 60–80 WPM — Above average, solid touch typist
  • 80–100 WPM — Fast, competitive amateur level
  • 100–130 WPM — Expert level, top percentile of all typists
  • 130+ WPM — Elite, professional competitive typist territory

The top positions on the KeyDuel leaderboard are typically held by typists in the 120–160 WPM range. Cracking the top 10 is a genuine achievement that requires sustained high accuracy at exceptional speed.

Improving Your Rank

The most effective route to a higher ranking is consistent daily practice, starting with accuracy and letting speed follow. Use Practice Mode to eliminate error patterns, Time Trial to push your WPM under pressure, and the Daily Typing Challenge to benchmark consistently against the same global pool of players every day.
